Zoho ManageEngine Desktop Central before. Path Traversal in NPM w-zip prior to 1.0.12. Jenkins Credentials Binding Plugin 1.27 and earlier does not perform a permission check in a method implementing form validation, allowing attackers with Overall/Read access to validate if a credential ID refers to a secret file credential and whether it's a zip file. There are no recommended workarounds aside from upgrading. All users should upgrade to BCV v2.11.0 when possible to receive a patch.

In the context of a web application, a web shell could be placed within the application directory to achieve code execution. The impact of a Zip Slip vulnerability would allow an attacker to create or overwrite existing files on the filesystem. The attacker can then overwrite executable files and either invoke them remotely or wait for the system or user to call them, thus achieving remote command execution on the victim’s machine.
